Early Life

I was born and raised in a small town in the Northern part of Nigeria (Borno State, Maiduguri to be precise). Growing up, my family was the cornerstone of my early life. With two loving parents from the Eastern part of Nigeria, Anambra state, and three siblings, our household was always bustling with activities. As an Igbo girl growing up in the North, my childhood was an amalgamation of traditions, languages and culture of the North.

This multi-cultural upbringing fostered a sense of open-mindedness, empathy and a deep respect for different perspectives of life.

Achievements

For me one of my biggest achievements is being able to practice what I have a passion for and that is Communication. I have been part of teams that have conducted the successful interview of Political stalwarts in the nation, people like the former deputy president of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, Kingsley Muoghalu, Oby Ezekwesili, Chief John Nnia Nwodo (former President General Ohaneze Ndi’Igbo), Ben Etiaba, Ajuri Ngelale, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Barr. Peter Mba among others. I have also conducted interviews with high profile Nigerian comedians, musicians and entertainers.

I have been part of a team that has hosted very huge shows around Enugu state, produced media campaigns, radio jingles and programs.

I’m very grateful to God and people who have helped me climb this ladder of success in a short period of my life.

Education

I started my Primary education in Maiduguri, of which I had to continue upon relocation from the North to Enugu State with my family at a young age. I attended Maranatha Nursery and Primary school for 5 years where I finished with distinction in my First School Leaving Certificate Examinations. This earned me a direct admission to secondary school from Primary 5 after the Common entrance examination. I always came out tops in class in primary school.

For my secondary education, I was a pioneer student at Spring of Life International Schools, Enugu, one of the best in Enugu state. In secondary school, because of my intelligence and extraordinary exploits in academics, I was appointed the Library prefect. I got awards for the best graduating student in Arts class. I represented the school in sports activities such as match past (which was my niche).

After graduation from secondary school, I gained admission into Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in 2011 to pursue a career in Journalism. I studied Mass Communication and graduated with Second Class Honours in 2015.

Career

I started my full time career as a Broadcaster / Radio Presenter during my Youth Service in Enugu state, from December 2016. I worked at Urban Radio 94.5FM throughout my service year and because of my exceptional experience, I was retained and given full time employment as the Host of a flagship Breakfast Show. In my career as a Broadcaster / Journalist, I have gotten the opportunity to work with renowned people in politics and entertainment through interviews and live coverages.

Challenges

No doubt, in the ladder of life, there are always challenges and that’s what makes us human.

I have had my own share of challenges in my journey of life. I was not born with a silver spoon so I watched my parents do the best they could to send me to school to become what I am today. The only regret I have is not having my dad alive to see how far I have gone in life.

The most challenging time of my life was December 2017 after I lost my father to the cold hands of death, I was left with my mom to cater to the needs of my siblings, but God been faithful, he provided all that it required to see us through and I’m so happy that down to the last child of the family, we’re all graduates. I am sure my father will be happy wherever he is.
